Icarus

"What does an Angel look like when there hearts are corrupted by Mortality? What does an Angel do when faced with such a prospect? Are they any better than the mortals they call savage?" - Book of the Undying.

Icarus, which is not his actual name but merely the name he chose to use while on Earth, is a Guardian. Guardians are a kind of Angel who face the prospect of a mortal life with a grim expression and the cold steel of a sword, Icarus walks unseen among mortal men to better see what life lays before him should he fall from the Father's grace.

He works with the moral Police officer John Smith, who's cases generally involve rough Demons and Fallen Angels. His tattoos are intricate, with large sections of his back and chest devoted to passages from holy scriptures which detail his mission on earth. Most if not all of these written passages are in Greek, his most prominent one is on his back: "και το φως φέγγει στο σκοτάδι
και το σκοτάδι που δεν κατανόησε." ("And the light shineth in the darkness and the Darkness comprehended it not.")

He is first described by John as tall, dark and beautiful, but also cold.
